Year 7 History Topics.

1.How did Medieval Monarchs keep control?

This topic looks at the problems of 4 medieval kings and how each king dealt with these problems in order to keep control of England.

The kings which are studied are -

i. William of Normandy (more commonly known as William the Conqueror)

ii.Henry II, his relationship with the Church and Thomas Becket

iii. King John and the Barons

iv. King Richard II and The Peasants Revolt. 

2. What was life like for people living in Medieval towns and villages?

Students will study and research the life of people living in Medieval towns and villages.

3. Students will study the role of the Medieval Church  and how it affected the lives of medieval people.

4. Were Native American Indians Savage?

Students will study and research the culture of Native American Indians and how their way of life was affected by the actions of the white man. Students will be able to dispel the myth that Indians were savage by using evidence and reaching a balanced conclusion.
